Out of service
This blog is temporarily on hiatus as I'm working on a new project.
Murder on the streets will take over for my other blog as well, The Typewritten Ephemera.

Sundays
Here are some pictures that I don't really like. They're the rejects that were spooned off the bottom of my memory card. That's Adidas the cat, Alex, my roommate, who's brushing his teeth, and a television.

Garbage night

It's garbage night in NDG and the local convenience store is throwing out old security monitors. It's nice to see that they survived the entire night out on the street without getting stolen or vandalized.

Spring in the city

On a rare March Saturday afternoon, we went for a bike ride through town and ended up with a few beers by the Lachine canal. The weather was great. Photographed are Xavier and Audrée-Maude at their apartment in St. Henri.

Stick and poke

Burt Reynolds, a deer that was shot and stuffed sometime in the sixties, was celebrating his birthday on Friday. Burt, as he is known, only became Burt upon his demise and consequential encounter with a taxidermist. Therefore calling it a 'birthday' is in no way incorrect or ironic. His life ended where his legacy of kitsch began. John, David and Jeremy are lucky to have him hanging on their wall.
Above, John hurls marshmallows into my gaping mouth and Jeremy tattoos Alex's leg - a small dagger - using a homemade technique known as stick and poke. It's not exactly painless or professional, but it makes for a great party game.
Happy birthday, Burt.

Bulmer avenue

Tenements on Bulmer Avenue in Westmount. Not my best panorama, but it's my favorite street in Montreal, so I thought I'd post it anyway.

Under the overpass

Under the famed Turcot interchange, in Montreal, a row of old tenements still stands by the cement pillars. This was shot in the St. Henri neighborhood, near the Lionel Groulx metro station. Six image composite assembled manually in Photoshop.
Springtime in NDG.

Odds and ends from spring days in NDG. Also, I'm getting to know my new Olympus E-410 camera so I'm shooting a bit of everything and nothing.
